News about NATO

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said Wednesday that the alliance was discussing the “adaption” of its nuclear arsenal to the “current security environment” amid soaring tensions with Russia.

He listed two examples of NATO’s “adaptation,” the Netherlands acquiring F-35 fighter jets that could drop US nuclear weapons stored in the country and the US modernizing its nuclear warheads that are deployed across Europe.

Hungary has agreed not to block NATO military aid to Ukraine, but it will not help either, the military alliance’s chief says.

After meetings with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg told reporters in Budapest on Wednesday that he “accepts” the position of the Central European country not to participate in NATO efforts for Ukraine.

An excellent target for a nuclear strike! An armada of 30 NATO warships has gathered together near the borders of Russia.

NATO military maneuvers Baltops-2024 continue in the Baltic Sea. The North Atlantic military bloc is actively conducting exercises in the Baltic states, especially in close proximity to the Russian borders. Of particular concern is the concentration of warships and auxiliary vessels in the Lithuanian port of Klaipeda, located just 70 km from the borders of the Kaliningrad region.

F-16 fighter jets and any airfields they are based at will be legitimate targets for the Russian military if they participate in combat missions against Moscow’s forces, the chairman of the Russian State Duma Defense Committee, Andrey Kartapolov, has warned.

The comments come as Kiev prepares to receive the first delivery of US-made fighter jets from its Western backers, after Ukrainian pilots were trained to fly them.

Ukraine will keep some of its foreign-donated F16s abroad in order to protect them from Russian attacks, according to a senior Ukrainian military officer. The move risks escalating the conflict yet further, since Putin has already warned he would consider attacking Ukrainian jets stationed abroad if they are used to attack Russian forces.

Prominent political pundits have offered their views on the longstanding Western campaign to promote the image of Russia as a hostile country, as part of a panel discussion titled ‘The Empire of Evil: Has the West Successfully Demonized Russia?’
