The Federal Bureau of Investigation has aided a Ukrainian intelligence effort to censor social media users and obtain their personal information, leaked emails reveal.

In March 2022, an FBI Special Agent sent Twitter a list of accounts on behalf of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), Ukraine’s main intelligence agency. The accounts, the FBI wrote, “are suspected by the SBU in spreading fear and disinformation.” In an attached memo, the SBU asked Twitter to remove the accounts and hand over their user data.

The Department of Homeland Security contracted the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in 2018 to design methods for assigning a “risk score” to potential pro-terrorists accounts on social media, as well as identifying information of interest regarding illegal opioid supply chain and disinformation efforts, according to internal DHS documents reviewed by Motherboard.

Special Counsel John Durham’s final report faults the FBI for opening the Trump-Russia collusion investigation on baseless grounds and relying on Hillary Clinton-funded material to pursue it, all while ignoring a warning that Clinton was plotting to frame Trump as a Russian asset. Yet Durham does not address the Clinton campaign’s equally central tie to Russiagate’s other foundational allegation: that Russia interfered in the 2016 election by hacking Democratic party servers and releasing the material through Wikileaks to help elect Trump.

To start the Chrome update procedure manually to the latest version that addresses the actively exploited security issue, head to the Chrome settings menu (upper right corner) and select Help → About Google Chrome.

Relaunching the application is required to complete the update.

Available security updates are also automatically installed the next time the browser starts without user intervention, so check the "About" page to ensure you're running the latest version.

The malicious apps are not hosted on Google Play but on third-party websites in Google Search that push APKs, Android packages that allow you to manually install mobile apps.

When visiting the sites, you will either be redirected to websites showing advertisements or prompted to download the searched-for app. The download sites are purposely created to distribute the malicious Android apps as an APK that, when installed, infect the Android devices with adware.

British Airways and Boots are among thousands of firms who have been hit by a massive cyber attack as bank and contact details have been exposed in a huge security scare. 

The cyber attack targeted Zellis, a payroll provider used by hundreds of companies in Britain.
