Israeli authorities seized broadcasting equipment from the Associated Press and blocked the outlet’s live feed of Gaza. The move is part of a crackdown on media in Israel. The White House expressed concern over the theft of the American outlet’s equipment. The AP reports the Israeli government later ordered the cameras to be returned to the journalists, and the feed was restored. 

Today, in the United States, the word “Fascism” strikes fear in the heart of the average American. This reaction is not rooted in any dispassionate judgement, but rather instinctive reaction created by propaganda and propaganda of the worst sort, defaulting to baser emotions at the expense of any rational thought.

When I was a kid, my father insisted I follow the Four Rules with even toy guns. I wasn’t to point them at people, I wasn’t to put my finger on the trigger until I was ready to fire, and I was to treat them not just as loaded guns but real ones as well. Knowing my target and what was beyond it was also included, but not very practical. -- Yet the first time I picked up a real gun without someone supervising me, I remembered every word. I knew how to handle that firearm safely and what not to do.
